Kandur Village Team visits Burujugadda on 15 February 2015

A team of about 20 persons led by Sri Nagi Reddy, Sarpanch from Kandur village visited Burujugadda on 15 February 2015.  Sri Ravinder Reddy and Sri Harinath Medi the two persons behind the effort also joined the group.

Sri Prasad welcomed the team and explained the development process that took place over 25 years.  After initial interactions and introductions, the team went into the village, farms, households and meeting families and students to ascertain how they achieved present development.

They visited the house and farms, dairy units of Badcha, Swamy, Srinivas and others.

A village Development Committee is formed for Kandur village.

VASORD will assist the Village Development Committee of Kandur in all possible ways in their efforts to develop their village.

VASORD's Chairman visits Kandur village

Kandur village is in Addakal Mandal of Mahaboobnagar District.  Sri M. Ravinder Reddy of Kandur village and Sri Harinath Medi invited Sri Prasad, Chairman VASORD to visit Kandur village to discuss the development of the village.  Sri Prasad visited Kandur village on 4th February 2015 to have a first hand assessment of the village, the challenges and opportunities.

The village has a strong and cohesive leadership of Sri Nagi Reddy, Sarpanch who is committed and devoted for the development of the village.  He is guided and supported by Sri Ravinder Reddy who was a Sarpanch of the village many years ago.  His father, Ram Reddy was an MLA for three terms and is highly respected by the villagers.

There is Ramalingeswara Temple which is known as Dakshin Kashi.  It has several mythological stories associated with it.

Sri Prasad outlined the importance of motivation and development methodology as a process.  He suggested a visit to Burujugadda and other villages where development work was undertaken.







Anjaneyulu a student from Kakanoor

VASORD implemented Watershed Development Programme in 22 villages of Mahaboobnagar District.  One of them, Kakanoor was visited by Anna Hazare and many prominent personalities.  VASORD took up integrated development of Kakanoor village.  A residential facility was provided for 10 students and 4 education volunteers.  These students study in the school and participate in agriculture, and other activities.  One of these students, Anjaneyulu was inspired by the International Volunteer, Jagoda Gregulska from Poland who stayed in Kakanoor for 5 months teaching in the school.  He did his B. Tech. and VASORD put him in a job with Digital Campus, an IT Company.  Anjaneyulu continued on his education and completed M.Tech. and is in a good job now.  VASORD is proud of his achievements.

Pushpa, a 10 Class Student supported by VASORD

Pushpa is a hardworking student of 10th Class.   She comes from a economically poor background and her mother works as a maid in households.  VASORD is supporting her education - school fee, Tuition Fee, Books and other expenses.  Pushpa is a talented girl having artistic skills.  Here she made an artificial flower bunch and a wall hanging.  She is seen with Dr. J. Kranthi along with her art presentations.





Sankranthi Celebrations in Burujugadda

Sankranthi or Pongal is an important festival in rural India.  This signifies harvesting and a festive atmosphere in villages.  VASORD celebrated Sankranthi in Burujugadda village on 15 January 2015 in a customary way.  Farmers were honoured with shawls.  Animals were decorated displaying the importance of animals and their importance in agriculture.

Guests were invited and it was a pleasant get together with pleasantries and having festive foods.  Girls had done Rangoli - decoration with colours and Kids had fun with kites.  There was a community cooking and dining on the occasion.







Training and Orientation to Farmers on Sustainable Agriculture

VASORD organized a Training and Orientation on Sustainable Agriculture to Farmers in Shamshabad Mandal at its Field Office, Burujugadda.  ATMA Rangareddy District supported the event.  In the three day event on  21-23 January 2015.  30 farmers are benefited by the inputs of experts.
